True Daughter is Wonderland Queen - Chapter 9
Zion’s statement took them completely by surprise.
Ethan responded swiftly, immediately reprimanding. “Zion, what are you talking about? You have crossed the line?”
However, Zion stubbornly remained silent.
As he fell silent, the attention of the Jenkins family shifted to Janie.
Frank looked sternly at Zion, then turned to Janie and said with a sigh, “Janie, Zion is acting our, don’t take it personally.”
Janie fell a deep sense of irony: “That’s easy for you to say. You’re biased,” She retorted coldly, “Of course, I won’t dwell on it, because it’s not worth getting upset.”
Frank immediately chided, “How can you talk like that?”
The others also cast disapproving glances at Janie.
Zion complained loudly, “See? She has no respect for me!”
Ethan frowned. “Janie, you shouldn’t act this way?”
Xena spoke with difficulty. “Janie, you did go too far.”
But Janie smiled indifferently. “Why should I respect you? What have you done to earn my respect! Have you ever respected me?”
Zion glared at Janie…
Janie continued. “No matter what happens, you all always say I’m the one who goes too far and that I shouldn’t act like that.”
“You can easily ignore Zion’s hostility and targeting of me, but when I stand up for myself, you all gang up on me as if I’ve committed a heinous.”
Janie’s expression turned even colder. “But that’s fine. I know people are born biased”
Xena hurriedly explained. “No, Sis, we didn’t mean that”
Janie composed herself and said calmly, “I said I’m not your sister.”
Zion sneered “You’re just bitter about Xena.”
Janie didn’t want to argue anymore.
She amused faintly and nodded, “Well, you’re right about everything is that enough for you?”
Zion’s face immediately darkened.
The face of the rest of the Jenkins family were also grim.
Janie’s voice was cold as she said. “Based on my relationship with her, what her mother has done to me, and the fact that she, the one with the most, still dates to be hostile toward me, picking fights all the time and puning on a disgusting show, I have reason to be dissatisfied with her.”
“What happened back then wasn’t an accident, someone did it on purpose! I can’t do what you do and have no issue with the daughter of an enemy. Though your family has always been harmonious, never having experienced my pain.”
“You are naturally much more forgiving than You can even stand on high ground with a clear conscience and make more demands and throw accusations at me, the biggest victim.”
The Jenkins family were all left speechless.
Love arose in their hearts toward Xena, and at the same time, they also felt a pang of guilt toward Janie.
Kathy had sorrowful expression, “But Xena didn’t do anything wrong, Janie, you shouldn’t this to her. She didn’t harbor any ill will toward.”
“You were kind to your kids but harsh with me. You ignore their bad behavior while accusing me even if I didn’t do anything wrong.”
Kathy seemed to want to argue but said nothing.
The others also fell into silence.
Janie had already turned around, realizing she needed to leave immediately; she didn’t want to stay.
The members of the Jenkins family stood frozen, as if momentarily at a loss for words. They exchange glances, their faces etched with confusion.
Zion let out a cold laugh and looked at Kathy with a hint of disdain in his tone, “Mom, she’s totally uneducated?”
Kathy looked disappointed, then turned toward her well–behaved daughter, Xena,
But as soon as she did, she remembered that Xena was the daughter of a criminal, and a pang of distress shot through her heart.
If it weren’t for Lindsey and her daughter, their family would have lived a much happier and peaceful life.
Ethan frowned and said to Zion. “Enough, your attitude toward Janie is too harsh. Even if she’s done something wrong, she’s still your sister. She’s suffered a lot, you should be more understanding”
Brimming with disdain, Zion retorted. “She’s not my sister. I only have Xena as my sister.”
Xena looked at Zion with a disapproving expression, seemingly displeased with his words. Zion looked stubborn, unwilling to admit that Janie was his sister.
Exhausted. Frank rubbed his brow and said helplessly. “Okay, everyone, get some rest. You guys shouldn’t be too harsh on Janie, especially you. We’ll talk about this tomorrow.”
Annoyed by Franks words, Zion was just about to reply when he heard Kathy say wearily, “All of you, go back to your rooms.
Zion reluctantly murmered. “Didn’t she say she wanted to leave! She’s still here. She’s just saying!”
Ethan angrily rebuked him, “Zion! You’ve gone too far! Watch your attitude in the future. Don’t say things like that again.”
Zion grunted and said defiantly, 1 didn’t say it wrong!
Suddenly they heard the door open. They followed the sound and saw Janie pulling a suitcase out of the door.
The Jenkins family froze as Janie quickly descended the stairs.
Frank’s eyebrows tightened, and he shouted, “Janie, what are you doing?”
Janie said in a faint voice, “Obviously. Em leaving here. It’s better for you and me.”
Xena suppressed her inner joy and hurriedly spoke, “Janie, come on. Don’t go. Mom and Dad. I will be sad.”
Janie didn’t pay any attention to her but placed a stack of cash on the table.
“In the past two days. I have incurred some expenses for board and lodging, and now I’m doubling it all back to you. You have not treated me well. and I have had a hard time here, so I don’t owe you anything,” she explained.
Hearing this, the faces of the Jenkins family members turned extremely nasty.
“We didn’t ask you to pay us. What kind of attitude is that?” Frank said.
Without replying, Janie turned and walked away.
“Stop there!” Frank rubbed his bow and tried his best to be calm. “Janie, stop being pissy, go back to your room. Keep your money. We don’t want
Ethan followed suit and said, “Yes, Janie. We all have made some mistakes, but we’re family. Let’s just talk. Why do we have to be like this?”
Her voice calm. “There’s no need for that. I just don’t want to stay here.”
Kathy burst into tears, “Jane, what do you want me to do?”
“She didn’t understand me at all.” said Jamie sarcastically “just don’t want in in her mind.”
“I can’t stay here, that’s all,” she said word for word, “I’ve had enough”
Zion frowned clearly unhappy with her words, “What’s wrong with you?”
Janie gave him a look. “What right do you have to yell! ”
“Aren’t you aware of what you’ve done! Do you dare to admit what you’ve done? ”
“You wouldn’t say. You are a coward.”
Zion was speechless and visibly embarrassed, his face flushing
“Janie-“Someone couldn’t listen to this and tried to cut in.
Janie interjected, saying, “I’m fed up with your criticism, and you have no right to judge me…”
“I’m frustrated these days. I’m tired of worrying that the future will be more of the same, maybe even worse, Sometimes it feels like life has no meaning. I don’t want to live like this. ”
“I don’t want to cling to a wealthy and powerful family like yours, interfere with your family connections, or be a burden to you? ”
Janie took a moment before adding. “I hope we don’t cross paths again.”
With that, she grabbed her suitcase and walked away with determination.
Ryan and Ethan rushed to stop her.
Ethan rubbed his temples, struggling with a splitting headache. “Janie, let’s talk this out calmly. You don’t have to do this.”
Ryan chimed in. “Exactly. Where can you go now? Just stay here, okay?”
Janie replied confidently. “It’s a big world, and there’s always a place for me. Anywhere is better than here.”
Kathy was already in tears. Janie, you’ve really let me down Why don’t you tell us what you’re upset about? Why do you have to be like this?”
Janie felt utterly drained. “I’ve already said what I needed to say. It seems like it didn’t make any difference
Looking at the two in front of her, she said firmly, “Please get out of the way. But they remained unmoved.
Zion shouted anxiously, Ryan, Ethan, get out of the way. I don’t believe she be willing to leave. Where could she go? To Lindsey’s place? She’s intentionally throwing a tantrum!”
Hearing this, Ryan and Ethan hesitated.
Xena quickly shook her head at Zion.
Kathy called out, “Do you really have no attachment to this family!”
“That’s right” Janie replied.
Kathy, now furious, said. “Fine. Just let her leave!”
After some hesitation, Ryan and Ethan finally stepped aside.
“Wait a minute,” Zion suddenly spoke up
Just when they thought he might try to convince Janie to stay, he added, “What’s in your suitcase? Did you take something from us?”
The others shot disapproving looks at Zion.
Why was he trying to escalate things now?
Janie lowered her gaze and opened her suitcase.
With a hint of sarcasm, she said, “Go ahead and check. Search your room too, so you can’t blame me. Getting to know you is the worst thing that ever happened to me? ”
What was in the suitcase was dear at a glance. Only her belongings were there she didn’t have much with her.
Seeing this, they were again at a loss for words.
Ryan hurriedly explained, Janie, we don’t mean that?
But Janie didn’t care about their true intentions.
They never could say what they meant anyway, and she had no time and mood to guess.
“That’s it, I’ll leave” Janie dragged her suitcase away.
Xena hurriedly pulled Kathy. “Mom, how can you let Janie go? Where can she go alone? ”
Kathy wiped away the tears on her face. “From now on, she’s not my daughter, You’re.”
Xena barely hid the smile that was beaming but pretended to be sad, “Mom, don’t say that .”
Kathy said indignantly, “She called me Mrs. Jenkins, not Mom. She doesn’t even think of me as her mom?”
Ryan and Ethan both looked helpless. They knew that their mother was just being tough.
Frank sighed and didn’t say anything.
In fact, none of them believed that Janie would leave.
She was just throwing a tantrum to get their attention, hoping that they would take the initiative to bow down.
Frank and Kathy were in agreement that Janie would naturally come back after suffering.
At that time, they would discipline her properly. We’re still the same as before.
After thinking about it, Ethan still proposed, “I’ll tell my guy to follow her. It’s not safe for her to go out alone at night after all
Frank and Kathy said nothing, acquiescing to his plan.
Xena immediately expressed her approval. “Right, it’s already midnight. It’s dangerous for her to go out alone. Even if she’s mad at us, we can’t leave her alone.
Hearing this.
Kathy immediately rebuked angrily. “Leave her alone!”
Frank also acquiesced to Kathy’s words.
Xena almost laughed out loud, she had no idea Janie would leave so soon.
What a fool. It’s a rare opportunity to rise from the ranks of the poor to the rich, but she didn’t know to cherish it. After leaving the Jenkins family. what can she achieve Even if she comes back later, with an edge between the Jenkins family and her, days are gonna be tough for her Xena. thought
Zion was still clamoring “How could she possibly be willing to leave here to go to that poor family? She’s just putting up an act! There’s no way she’s going to leave just like that?
Xena smiled more and more. However, Janie suddenly turned around and came back without her suitcase.
Xena froze in her steps, almost unable to take a breath. The others also froze for a moment.
Zion continued to shout “She? She wouldn’t leave so easily!”
Jamar said in a cold voice, “You’re right, I can’t just leave like this. Otherwise, only I would end up suffering.
Xena clenched her teeth. Frank and the others froze but ultimately didn’t say anything
“It’s good that you’ve thought it through, I’ll go bring your suitcase in we need to talk things out,” said Ethan.
Jane, however, went straight to Zion.
Zion frowned, full of disgust. “What do you want now! Yai need to know that we don’t …”
Before he could finish his words, Janie smiled faintly and suddenly kicked him hand.
Zion couldn’t react in time and was kicked backward. No one else had come to their senses y
Zion and Ryan was filled with worry as she hastily moved aside to avoid being dragged do
Zion was, after all, a man on the verge of adulthood. Xena was crushed to the point where her vision turned dark and she felt like her bones were
“Ah” They screamed miserably together.
Janie said coldly. “For despicable fools like you, I can’t feel at ease until you get what you deserve.”
“That feels much better. She said with a smile, “Farewell, everyone.”
Janie’s kick seemed very light. Even if Zion went to the doctor, he would be diagnosed with any serious issue. But Janie knew that Zion would certainly suffer. Xena would feel bad too.
Janie no longer stayed and turned around to leave for her freedom. She was going to a world free from The Jenkins family.
