The Rejected Luna's Secret Pregnancy - Chapter 4
Chapter 4
Selena’ s POV
The next day was the pack‘ s full moon run event. It was an event where the pack gathered under the full moon to run together through the pack‘ s territory.
Zane didn’t return that morning, and just. like I expected he came in the evening with Linda. There was an unspoken rule that mates usually ran together on a day like this, but when the time came, he told me to go ahead, that he was going to stay with Linda, so she wouldn’t feel left out as an omega.
To his surprise, I didn’t argue or complain like I normally did. I just quickly accepted it and ran off, enjoying the feel of the night air against my wolf‘ s fur.
When I got back, I was told that Zane was calling me to his office. I nodded, wondering why he was calling for me. On my way, I crossed paths with Linda. She gave me a sly and mocking grin.
“Luna,” she greeted with a smirk. I nodded to her in reply and walked off. I didn’t have time for whatever games she was playing.
“You sent for me,” I said as I walked into Zane’s office.
“You‘ re still mad, aren’t you?” He asked immediately I closed the door.
I lifted an eyebrow at him. “What makes you say that?” I asked.
He clenched his jaw in frustration. “I didn’t come back last night or even this morning, yet not a single call or text. You didn’t complain or argue when I didn‘ t go on the run with you. Don’t lie to me, Selena.” He growled.
I furrowed my eyebrows in wonder. “What do you want me to do? You were with Linda, so I knew you were completely fine. There was no need to keep calling and texting since I knew you were fine.”
He clenched his jaw again. He was getting angry.
“So you‘ re not mad?” He asked, stepping closer to me with a menacing glare.
I gave him a nonchalant shrug as I wasn’t fazed by his anger. Honestly, I wasn’t angry. I had every right to be angry, but I wasn’t. All I felt was resignation.
Zane stared at my eyes for a moment. longer before he snarled.
“Get out of my office,” he barked, his eyes dark with anger. “We‘ re done. here.”
I nodded calmly and walked out with my head held high. The next morning, when I woke up, I was surprised to see that Zane was around, and not with Linda, which was surprising.
“Good morning,” I muttered groggily to him, walking to the bathroom.
He didn’t reply “Do you remember what today is?” He asked, causing me to pause.
Instantly, I remembered. Today was our seven years anniversary as mates. I nodded slowly, bracing myself for what he would say next.
“I want us to have a special dinner tonight.” He said with a small smile.
At first, I didn’t want to go, but I finally agreed to.
He grinned at me in delight. “Put on your best, I’ll come pick you by 4pm.”
When it was 4pm, I was already dressed as I waited for Zane to come. Two hours later, when I was already exhausted, and was about going back to change, Zane finally came.
“Hey, sorry I’m late. Linda was having a fever.” He said, leaning forward to kiss me, but I turned, causing him to kiss my cheeks instead.
He frowned in annoyance. “Oh come on, don’t start,” he exclaimed, throwing his “You know what? I can’t deal hands up, with this right now. Let’s go.”
As I got to Zane’s car, I noticed that Linda was inside already. She was in the front passenger seat in the car. My heart dropped.
What was Linda doing here? Was Zane really bringing her with us for our anniversary dinner?
