The Rejected Luna's Secret Pregnancy - Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Selena’s POV
Zane turned to me, and his face softened.
“My love, I’ve gotten rid of the person who was standing between us. There’s nothing standing in our way now.” He said softly, reaching for my hand.
I slapped his hand away with an icy glare. “Don’t you dare touch me, Zane! We are over!” I snapped.
He shook his head, stepping closer to him. “No, no, my love. It’s not over. We can try for another child, and I will never allow anything or anyone to get between us again. Please.” He pleaded, his voice shook with desperation.
I gave him an incredulous look. “Try again? You want me to try again? My womb is damaged beyond repair! I cannot have another child, ever again!”
He shook his head again. “But it’s still possible, that’s what the healers said the last time, and you still got pregnant. It can still happen again, we can make another!” He argued, trying to reach for my hand again.
I stepped backwards with a glare. “This is not the same as the last time. The healers said it would be difficult last time, but now, it is impossible!”
The last miscarriage was from a rogue attack on the pack–an attack that I had barely survived from.
Zane was insistent. “Let’s try again, it can work.”
“I’d rather die than let you touch me!” I declared firmly.
At my words, his eyes flashed in anger.
“No! You belong to me! You have no one else but me!” He roared, his face turning red in rage.
I wasn’t fazed, I shrugged in reply without possible, that’s what the healers said the last time, and you still got pregnant. It can still happen again, we can make another!” He argued, trying to reach for my hand again.

I wasn’t fazed, I shrugged in reply without saying a word. I wasn’t going to tell him that I was going to work at the Healer’s Circle. My lack of response got him even angrier, and he lunged at me with a roar. However, Beta Hugo stepped in swiftly, and blocked Zane before he could reach me.
“Enough, Alpha Zane. You are going too far. Step back.”
Zane growled in anger, panting heavily as he glared at Hugo. “This is between me and my mate. Move, Hugo!”
Hugo didn’t flinch. “She is no longer your mate, Zane. You rejected her, and she accepted. It’s that simple.”
Zane glanced at the pack members that stood around, and he saw that most of the pack members agreed with Hugo. His. authority was being questioned.
Zane snarled in rage. “You dare to stand against me?!”
Hugo stood firmly. “I stand for what’s right,” he stated “and this is not right, and everyone knows it.”
Zane thought fast and hard. I could see the wheels turning in his head. Hugo was huge and powerful. If Hugo challenged Zane for the Alpha’s position, he would win. Zane didn’t want to take that risk. So he relented. However, the look in his eyes told me that he wasn’t done with me.
He turned away in defeat and stormed off with a growl, leaving behind a hysterical Linda who still sat on the floor mumbling to herself in shock.
After the festival, I didn’t go back to the house. Unknown to Zane, I had been moving my things little by little. So I spent the night at Beta Hugo and his mate’s place before I finally moved to the Healer’s Circle. They had offered me accommodation as part of my new role.
It was very far from Zane‘ s pack, and all the dramas. It was exactly what I needed to rebuild my life. For days, Zane kept calling and texting me. But I kept ignoring them. At first, his messages were full of threats, then later on, he started pleading, then threatening, and pleading again.
Finally, when it got too much, I got rid of my phone and got a new one. I immersed myself in my work, making herbal medicine. As I tried to keep my past behind me.
A month passed, and Zane finally found where I was. I stepped out of the building, and he came out of nowhere. Looking haggard and unkempt.
“Selena,” he murmured softly, trying to reach for me. However, Jason was there, and he swiftly blocked him.
“Selena? Do you know this man?” He asked, frowning at Zane.
Zane turned to me with pleading eyes, and I regarded him coldly without a hint of familiarity in his eyes.
“No, I’ve seen this man in my life.” I replied coldly.
“What? Selena, it’s me! Zane! Your mate!” He cried desperately.
I gave him an indifferent look and I turned away. “No idea who you’re talking about.” I replied, walking away.
When Zane tried to follow me, Jason blocked him. “I think you should leave.” He said firmly.
Jason was a healer, but he also had magic. But Zane foolishly tried to fight back, and Jason easily overpowered him. The fight caused a scene and attracted the attention of other healers around.
Zane was banned from coming within fifty miles of the Healer’s Circle or another member of the Healer’s Circle, or the consequences would be disastrous. Zane knew he stood no chance against the might of the Healer’s Circle, so he left in defeat.
When he got back to his pack, he was so miserable, and negligent that Beta Hugo had to challenge him for the title, and he obviously won. Zane had lost everything–his mate, his child, and his pack. So he ended up killing himself out of the pain of losing everything.
Meanwhile, Linda had a miscarriage and went insane. She had to be locked in a psychiatric ward for her safety and the safety of others. At the Healer’s Circle, I finally found peace and contentment.
One evening as I watched the sunset in a garden in the Healer Circle building, I thought back to how far I had come, and for the first time in a long time, I smiled.
