The Missed Season - Chapter 6

The paparazzi sold the video to Brittany.

Brittany wanted to use the videos to make me break up with Jake. Mom found out. Mom didn’t let her use the video.

Mom said it would ruin her reputation. Mom meant, find a way to get me to give him up. That way, Brittany keeps her image.

I got the video. The paparazzi needed money. I didn’t get these videos. The paparazzi probably sold them to Jake. This time, things are different.

I’m a new person. The video ended. Everyone was silent. They were looking at me.

Brittany squeezed out a tear.

She said.

“Hit me if you want. I’m sorry. But I love Jake. If you let me have him, I’ll thank you forever.”

Jake denied it.

“Mia, don’t listen to her. We’re nothing. She seduced me. I’ve met a lot of women like her. That’s why I chose you. You’ve always treated me the same. I’ll always love you. No one can replace you.”

He said one thing. He seduced my sister. Jake’s love is cheap. Sarah stuck up for me.

“You love her? Why were you with other women? Kissing before you got into the room? No one will believe it. Maybe you’ve been sleeping with her. The pair of you!”

They still had to work for Brittany. But everyone agreed with what Sarah said.

I nodded.

“Spot on.”

Sarah tilted her chin.

“That’s right…”

She realized that she shouldn’t had said that. She said.

“Mia, should we pull her hair, or beat up the jerk? I’m ready for anything.”

I patted her head.

“We don’t do that. Put the box in my car.”

Sarah looked at the couple. Then, she left. Jake read my attitude. He said.

“Mia, I’m sorry. It won’t happen again. Trust me.”

I smiled.

He thought I had forgiven him. I slapped him. His face turned. Brittany pushed me.

She yelled.

“What’s wrong with you? Why are you hitting him?”

I slapped her. Brittany had a mark. She was shocked. I wouldn’t dare to hit her.

Dad came out of the company. He saw me with Brittany. Without a word, he pushed me. I moved back.

He fell. I stood there. I said.

“I have no family. Remember.”

I turned around.
