Pregnant and Married to a Billionaire My Ex Cries in Regret - Chapter 7
With every word I spoke, Michael’s face grew paler. It wasn’t until I saw this once–proud man now curled up in front of me like an abandoned puppy that I slowly closed my eyes.
“We’re done, Michael. You can go back to being the esteemed Mr. Lester, no need to keep lowering yourself like this. Without me, you’ll still be able to live happily with Patricia. I wish you both many children.”
“As for me, we’ll never see each other again.” I gestured for the butler to escort him out.
But Michael, his eyes red, grabbed my shoulder, as if trying to pull me into his embrace. “I won’t allow it! No, ‘never again‘? That’s impossible!”
“I’m taking you home. We’ll get married and have a few children together. Your baby won’t matter. I’ll treat it like my own. Sherry, please come back with me.”
As he spoke, tears fell in thick, heavy drops, landing on my palm–warm, like the tears of an abandoned puppy.
I couldn’t help but tease him a little. “Michael, if I go back with you, will you promise to never see Patricia again?”
He paused for a moment, before seemingly coming to a decision, telling me, “Sherry, the truth is, Patty isn’t a bad person. When we get back, I’ll talk to her. I’ll make sure she never harasses you again.”
Listening to his frantic justifications, all I could do was let out a cold, mocking laugh. “Michael, even now, you can’t let go of the comfort of having it all.” I shook him off and issued my final ultimatum.
“No! Sherry, I really know I was wrong. Come back with me and I’ll never see Patricia again, I swear!”
Looking into Michael’s tear–swollen eyes, for a fleeting moment, I almost believed he had loved me. “But I’m already married and now I’m pregnant.”
I looked at him with some pity. “We are fated to be apart. Go back, Michael.”
“Wait!”
I turned around and Michael’s eyes were burning with an almost insane flame.
“If I kill Alex right now, can we get back together? Don’t worry, if he’s dead, I’ll marry you immediately and we’ll live happily ever after.”
Seeing the madness in Michael’s eyes grow more intense, I panicked and struggled. “Michael, you’re insane! I’ll never be with you again!”
The man didn’t care at all about my struggles. After a slight smile, he dragged me toward the music room to find Alex.
As soon as Alex saw me trapped by Michael, his eyes turned bloodshot.
“Michael, if you dare lay a finger on Sherry, you won’t leave this place alive!”
Michael laughed lightly, sizing up the angry man, then disdainfully said, “I won’t do anything to Sherry, because she’s about to be my wife. And you, you should have died long ago!”
With that, Michael lunged at Alex like a starving wolf. I realized he was holding a sharp dagger!
My heart instantly leaped to my throat. This man, he never planned to leave here alive today!
Michael moved like a predator, the dagger flashing faster with each strike. Though Alex was unarmed, he seized the opportunity, swiftly grabbing Michael‘ s wrist and twisting it with all his might.
Clang–the dagger hit the floor. In an instant, the two were tangled in a brutal struggle. Alex pressed the attack, landing several heavy punches to Michael’s face.
The once handsome face was now a bloody mess, his nose shattered. Finally, Alex delivered a crushing elbow strike to Michael’s temple!
Michael collapsed slowly, like a puppet with its strings severed, his body crumpling to the floor in a gruesome heap of blood. The air grew thick with the acrid stench of iron.
Michael coughed, spitting up another large pool of blood, yet still weakly reached out to me, his hand trembling in a silent plea.
