Pregnant and Married to a Billionaire My Ex Cries in Regret - Chapter 5
“Sherry, you’ve really disappointed me! Patty didn’t do it on purpose and you scared her! Why do you have to keep attacking her like this? A woman like you, crazy and unreasonable, I will never marry you!”
Before I could even respond, Michael had already taken Patricia‘ s arm and was walking away. In the haze of my thoughts, I heard the man’s voice, low and comforting.
“Patty, don’t mind that crazy woman. She dares to treat you this way, I’ll never marry her!”
Never marry me? But I was already married! I was here today to officially break off our engagement. I steadied myself and let out a deep breath. Opening my phone, I booked a flight for the day after tomorrow.
Since they had already disrespected my mother to this point, there was no reason to keep pretending with them. Back home, I video–called my husband, Alex and instantly felt better.
Alex said he’d be home soon and that he brought some of my favorite snacks.
Bang, bang!
Someone was banging on my door. When I opened it, to my surprise, it was an unwelcome guest–Michael. Next to him was Patricia, his face cold.
“Patty‘ s upset now and I’m ordering you to apologize to her!”
My late mother was being disrespected matters nothing to him, but Patricia’s smile did. I forced a smile, then snapped back, “I didn’t do anything wrong, so why should I apologize?”
Slap!
Michael slapped me across the face, sending me crashing against the doorframe. A metallic taste filled my mouth.
The man looked at me with an air of superiority. “Sherry, stop pretending. If you don’t apologize, I won’t marry you!”
Marriage–again with the marriage!
Michael dared to push me around, thinking he could do whatever he wanted because of the love I once had for him.
My voice came out hoarse as I forced the words through clenched teeth, “Michael, I’m already married!”
“I won’t interfere with your life, but at least show some decency!”
“Just because I won’t marry you, does that give you the right to say whatever you
want?”
Michael stared at me in shock, then his tone softened, trying to coax me. “If you really can’t stand it, then apologize to Patty. If you keep this up, I won’t forgive you!”
I closed my eyes, unable to bear seeing how Michael twisted the truth.
“Sherry, why do you always hate me?” Patricia‘ s exaggerated, sugary voice broke through.
Slap!
I slapped Patricia hard across the face! She disrespected my late mother and now she was playing the victim!
“You- you…” Patricia stared at me in shock, as if she couldn’t believe what had just happened.
Ever since I fell for Michael, I had endured Patricia‘ s provocations, swallowing my pride at every turn. Over time, she had truly come to think of me as someone she could walk all over, a harmless lamb who would never fight back.
After slapping her, I finally let out a long breath of frustration.
“My love, I’m here!” Alex, tall and imposing, stepped in front of me, his gaze locked onto the two of them with a fierce intensity.
The moment he arrived, I felt a wave of calm wash over me.
Seeing my husband, Michael’s eyes instantly turned bloodshot, his gaze now fixed on me with a burning anger.
“Who is this man? Sherry, you better explain yourself!” Alex shot him a contemptuous glance before pulling me into his arms.
“This is my husband and the father of my future child. You wanted to know why I was at the hospital, right? I’ll tell you now- I’m pregnant!”
I slammed my pregnancy report in his face.
Michael didn’t even glance at it; instead, he tore it up and threw it aside with a derisive laugh. His eyes were wild with rage as he sneered.
“Sherry, I’ll admit, your little act is convincing. Faking a pregnancy report, finding a man to rile me up… you‘ re getting more and more cunning.”
He added. “But too bad, no matter how well you play this, it’s still fake. Even if you won an Oscar for this, it won’t change the fact that it’s all a lie!”
