Under the streetlights, Liam couldn’t stop the emotions anymore. He curled into a ball, as tears ran down his face. He could only watch her leave. Jane never looked back. He used to think that separation was the worst. But being close, and still so far, that was the worst kind of torture.

She was the gold he’d found years ago. It was worst kind of torture. She was the gold he’d found years ago. But now, she was no longer his, and he’d lost her completely. In a corner, Jane still shined, still doing amazing things.

He had to accept that Jane was fine without him. He was the only one who was still stuck in the past.
