Liam was silent for a moment before realizing, “She probably ran home in a huff, right? Really, she doesn’t know anything.”

“She just had surgery, she should be resting in the hospital, but she had to go home in a rage!” he muttered as he sped back home.

But the house was cold and empty. When he asked the housekeeper, she said she hadn’t seen Grace in a long time.

“But, on the day you took the madame away, she seemed to leave something for you in the study.” Liam’s eyes lit up, and he rushed to the study.

But he saw only a divorce petition on the desk. Grace’s name was already signed on it.

“Good, good!” Liam said, his anger rising, “Throwing a tantrum, huh?!”

He called Brad, “Go find Grace and tell her, I don’t need to worry about a cold–hearted woman like her anymore.”

“If she wants a divorce, I’ll sign it right now, let her come back.”

Liam felt particularly uneasy staying at home, so he simply went back to the hospital, planning to talk to Chloe’s parents about Grace. In the hallway, he saw a familiar figure sneakily entering Chloe’s room.

The woman seemed to be Grace’s foster mother, Chloe’s biological mother. Could it be that she came to see her after hearing the news?

Afraid of disturbing their time together, he stood outside the door. He could hear Chloe and the woman talking.

“Good girl! You did so well this time. The whole country knows that you’re Mrs. Thompson, not that little bitch Grace.”

“Annoying, can you not come over?”

“You’re an ingrate. If I hadn’t secretly switched the babies, could you have had such a good life?”

Liam’s face turned pale. Everyone thought it was a mistake back then.

“Shut up!” Chloe said impatiently. “Didn’t I tell you to beat that bitch more? If you can’t beat her to death, just cripple her. You’re useless, and you let her see my parents alive.”

“You dare to say that to me! I asked you to stay in the Thompson family and squeeze that little bitch out of the family. But what happened? You fool, you eloped for a man, leaving the position of Thompson’s daughter to that little bitch and giving her the chance to marry the president of Liam Corp, do you think that through your skull before acting.” The shrill, mean woman grumbled.

Chloe was no longer sweet and gentle, but instead, unusually shrewish: “Shut your stinky mouth. Liam forced my parents to change the person for the marriage to Chloe. What could I do! I didn’t decide to follow that man abroad to take a chance? He said he was the richest Chinese overseas, and I thought he was generous, so I followed him, but who knew his family was about to go bankrupt?”

“Then why didn’t you just return to America?” the shrill voice said unkindly, “Why did you play around outside, and now you’re all messed up, your uterus is too damaged, if I hadn’t given you the idea to replace your uterus with that little bitch’s, you wouldn’t have had any chance.”

She laughed triumphantly: “It’s good now, that little bitch can’t have children, so you must seize the opportunity to give birth to one for Liam.”

“Don’t worry, I told Liam last time that I wanted to repay him by giving him a child, and he didn’t refuse directly,” Chloe said, her voice smug:

“Besides, if I hadn’t run away in the first place, how could my parents hate her as much as they do now? Their family, they can never reconcile in this life.”

Liam clenched his fists. He was about to kick open the door and rush in when he heard something fall behind him with a crash. The next second, a figure rushed in.

“I’m going to kill you!!!”

Following in behind him was Chloe’s father, his eyes red. “You bastard! It was you who deliberately took my daughter away! You lied to me that the kids had been switched by accident!”

“You took my daughter away for twenty years! You told me that you treated my daughter very well, but that she was disobedient and ran away from home. You made me hate my own daughter!”

Chloe’s mother cried: “What have I done? I listened to you and didn’t give my daughter a good face when I brought her back. I also listened to you, because Grace’s temper didn’t change and she drove you away!”

“In the end, the two of you joined forces to persecute my daughter!!”

“My poor daughter! I’m going to kill you!!”

“I lost my daughter for twenty years, and I alienated her for five years because of you!!”

Chloe’s father didn’t stop Chloe’s mother from beating the two women, but he just protected her and said angrily, “You guys are too much! I’m calling the police!”
