Love’s Mark - Chapter 25
Xu Mei, in prison, in her third year, suddenly requested to see Shane, saying she had something he wanted to know.
Shane didn’t want to see her, but fearing he might miss news about our daughter, he met her.
Xu Mei stared at him, smiling, “Shane, thought I’d never see you again.
I still don’t understand, where did I lose to her?” Shane’s patience was gone.
He disgustedly said, “The news? If it’s just nonsense, then don’t bother.” As if afraid Shane would really leave, Xu Mei suddenly spoke, “I know you have a child.” Shane’s fist clenched, “Tell me, where is the child? What did you do to our child?” Xu Mei giggled, like a madwoman, muttering, “I have everything, I just want a man, why did she interfere? Why did she get pregnant with your child?” “I could have let her go, but she had your child, so she had to die.” “I shouldn’t have let that old woman and the child go.” L I knew this woman was completely insane.
But I understood what she meant.
Shane wanted to ask something, but Xu Mei suddenly spat blood.
Seeing this, Shane frowned, “Xu Mei, what did you swallow?” Xu Mei was in pain, but still smiling, “Poison, I can’t get out of prison, but getting some medicine… how could that be impossible?” “Shane, I want you to live in regret and loneliness, what I can’t get, no one can get!” Xu Mei died, and the clues to our daughter were gone again.
In the following days, Shane kept searching for our daughter.
But as if playing a joke, until Grandma passed away at 98, he still couldn’t find her.
The only news was that our daughter was adopted by a wealthy family.
Luckily, Grandma lived happily for the last 20 years; until her last moment, she had a smile on her face.
Postscript to Chapter 25 Shane passed away two years after Grandma.
The man, not yet fifty, was already gray- haired.
At the end of his life, he looked into the distance, full of anticipation.
He muttered words no one could understand.
He said, “Holly, will you come and get me?” “Holly, why, for twenty years, haven’t you even come to my dreams?” “Holly…” He reached out, toward the nothingness.
Then, he saw a girl who looked almost exactly like Holly.
Shane smiled, “Holly, is that you? I knew… you’d come get me.” However, the girl walked to him, gently shaking him, concerned, “Grandpa, Grandpa, He reached out, toward the nothingness.
Then, he saw a girl who looked almost exactly like Holly.
Shane smiled, “Holly, is that you? I knew… you’d come get me.” However, the girl walked to him, gently shaking him, concerned, “Grandpa, Grandpa, what’s wrong with you? Grandpa, hold on, I’ll call an ambulance!” In his last moments, Shane still didn’t understand if the girl was Holly or their lost daughter.
But he knew one thing, he hurt her too much, probably until death, she wouldn’t come to see him again…..
