Love’s Mark

Four years after my death, Grandma dug out my old phone and called Shane.

“Suhe, it’s been four years, and you finally decided to call me?”

“What? Ran out of money, sugar daddy? Sell yourself, don’t play the victim with me.”

“Let me tell you, I don’t want to see you, not even if I’m dying!”

Grandma, on the other end, was stunned. Her stooped back looked incredibly lonely.

She held the phone cautiously and asked, “Shane, did you have a fight with Suhe? I can’t find her.”

Grandma finished, her cloudy eyes staring at the empty room. She murmured as if remembering something: “Right, Suhe…Suhe is gone…dead…how could I forget again…”
