Love On The Cliff - Chapter 8
The flight was boarding, the flight attendant smiled at everyone. I deleted all of Ben’s contacts, locking him in that small apartment. Maybe he’d found out, maybe he was too busy, and would only think about me later.
The flight took off.
The engine covered everything. The unfinished story, the judgement, all of it, had lifted. Tiffany had called before the flight took off.
“Why are you running? He’s the one who cheated, why are you running? You should call him out. If it was me, I would crash his wedding. Or you should have caused a scene, he’s so rich, you would have had it made. Money over everything right?”
I thought she didn’t like me, I thought she’d be happy that I got played.
“Thank you, Tiffany.” My voice was quiet, but strong, “I had a bad time, but I don’t regret anything. I was true to myself for those five years, I don’t want to ruin it now.”
Tiffany didn’t say anything else. She knew that some things aren’t worth the effort. Everybody knew about it, nobody cared. It wouldn’t change anything. They were laughing, I wasn’t going to be a bigger joke. No one would defend me.
If I caused a mess, people like that could destroy me.
