Heartbroken 99 Times - Chapter (22)
Ch. Run Before 22 Run Before 22
Chapter 22
On the day they returned to their country, Cruz arranged for a private plane to pick up Nicole. The two of them sat together in the plane, silent and looking at each other.
Cruz wanted to talk to her, but he had been treated coldly by Nicole before. He didn’t dare to say more, afraid of annoying her and unwilling to go back.
At this moment, just like that moment, Nicole felt a sense of irony. Before the divorce, their roles had reversed she used to be the
– careful one, now
she had become Cruz.
She chuckled self–deprecatingly, ignoring Cruz’s gaze, and closed her eyes to rest.
Several hours later, they landed in their home country.
Cruz had everything arranged perfectly. As soon as they arrived in the lobby, someone was there to pick them up. Their schedule involved going to the company during the day to discuss business matters. Nicole would be representing the studio and negotiating specific issues with the Creative Department.
At noon, I went to a restaurant near the company for lunch.
As for the evening, Cruz didn’t say, but Nicole could also guess that the evening was Cruz’s true purpose.
She didn’t mind and came to the Creative Department to meet with the head of the department. He was very enthusiastic and highly appreciated Nicole’s ideas. They talked for a long time, until evening, about the upcoming design plans.

Cruz had been waiting on the side, not showing any signs of impatience. When he saw Nicole finally finished chatting, he walked up to her.
“Let’s go to the restaurant, it’s not good for your stomach to skip meals.”
The minister, upon seeing this, suddenly thought, “Is Ms. Quinn Mr. Yarbrough’s wife?”
Cruz was about to admit it when Nicole smiled and denied it.
“She is my ex–wife, Mr. Yarbrough and I had already divorced long ago.”
The minister felt embarrassed for a moment, and Cruz’s face also
darkened, but he held back and took Nicole to the reserved restaurant.
a month of
It was extremely difficult to make a reservation here, at least a waiting in line was required to secure a spot, and nobody knew how Cruz managed to do it. But Nicole didn’t care. She sat down at the table, eating the food that was brought to her with great seriousness, showing no interest in the beautiful scenery outside.
But Cruz seemed to have thought of something from the past, as a slight smile crept onto his lips.
“Nicole, do you remember? You said before that you wanted to come to this restaurant. When we came, you said your favorite thing was the view here. I specifically booked the best private room, where you can see the whole of New York.”
Nicole didn’t even look up, “Yeah, you only took one bite, called me childish, and said you wanted a divorce. I remember, Cruz.”
The atmosphere suddenly became tense, and Cruz fell silent for a
moment.
“Nicole, I know you hate me now, I promise I will never mention divorce to you again in the future, and I will not let anyone bully you. Nicole, can
you trust me one more time?”
Outside, the stars were twinkling, and the moon was hanging high in the sky, creating a rare and beautiful sight.
But if she doesn’t like it, she doesn’t like it. Nicole won’t give herself another chance to be disappointed.
She finished the last bite, wiped her mouth, and stood up.
“If that’s what you wanted to say, then I’ll go back.”
Seeing her still with the same indifferent attitude, Cruz’s face turned pale as he grabbed Nicole’s wrist.
“I understand, I will take you to see some things, and after you have seen them, you can decide if you want to leave.”
Nicole nodded.
She got into Cruz’s car, and Cruz drove very fast, as if he couldn’t wait for something. He ran several red lights on the way back to their former villa.
Pushing open the door, he led Nicole to the second floor. He first opened the door to her original room, and the decorations inside were surprisingly restored, just like they were before they got divorced.
Nicole looked carefully and didn’t make any comments.
Cruz opened the deepest drawer again and took out a familiar leather bag. He opened it and found it full of love letters. He randomly picked one and read it out loud, sentence by sentence.
It was his hidden feelings deep inside.
Nicole didn’t tell him that she had already seen it.
She remained calm, listening as Cruz read all the love letters from all these years. The man’s eyes turned red, his fingers trembling.
“Nicole, do you believe me now? I truly loved you, I made mistakes. before, can you give me a chance to make it up to you?”
Nicole looked at him and suddenly said.
“If I said, would you kneel here for a day and a night, I would forgive you, would you do it?”
