Cursed with the Imposter Wife - Chapter 14
Chapter 14
The moment she saw me, she blurted out, “What will it take for you to forgive me? What can I do to make Joel agree to marry me again?”
Her words made it clear that she wasn’t here to extend a sincere apology; she was here out of desperation because Joel had dumped her.
I let out a cold laugh.
“I’ll forgive you when you’re dead.”
“Don’t push it, Emma!” Haley’s face twisted in anger as she yanked off her mask and sunglasses.
“Look at me! Look at my face and all these injuries! I know your husband is powerful, and I can never compare to you, but isn’t beating me up enough? Don’t push me into a corner!”
I laughed again. My laugh was cold.
“Did you consider whether or not you were pushing me too far when you had your lackeys beat me, tear my clothes, and smash my car?”
“I—”
“Stop playing the victim!” I snapped, cutting her off and slamming a damage report onto the table.
“You didn’t just hit me. You slashed my bag, ruined my jewelry, and destroyed the gifts in my car. You even damaged my villa. Altogether, the losses amount to seven million dollars.
I leaned in closer, and my voice was colder than ever.
“Go split the bill with your friends. If I don’t receive the money in a week, be prepared to spend the rest of your life in prison.”
With that, I stood up and walked away without looking back.
