Kevin was completely convinced of Luna’s status as a wealthy heiress. He thought her lavish spending was just a casual splurge and didn’t suspect a thing.

This pair of fools, as stupid as donkeys, naturally completed a theft case involving an extremely huge amount, one that was serious enough to warrant the maximum penalty.

I just set the bait, and it was their own greed that made them take the bait.

With my lawyer accompanying me, I cooperated with the police to finish making my statement.
I did exchange the watch, but it was just because I wanted to give it to my father as a gift.

I thought a watch worth only a few tens of thousands of dollars wasn’t presentable enough, so I changed it for another one.

His obsequious behavior was really disgusting.

I sneered coldly before going back to my workstation to pack up my stuff.

“Kaiden, have you got the news that the company is planning to make layoffs recently?” I called out to Kaiden, who scurried over obsequiously.

Hearing about the layoffs, Kaiden’s face immediately fell, and he managed a forced, bitter smile.

“Of course. How could you possibly know such news? Don’t worry. If anyone is affected by the layoffs, the HR department will get in touch with you.”

I left the office area with my things in my arms, looking carefree.

My internship had officially come to an end, and since the company’s chief financial officer had just resigned to go abroad, I was going to be the new CFO starting tomorrow.

The office area immediately burst into an uproar following my parting comment.

“We’re doomed. Given how we’ve treated her, she’s sure to take revenge.”

“Don’t you start? It’s all because of you that we always ended up offending her whenever we listened to you.”

“How dare you blame me entirely? Why don’t you blame your own foul mouth?”

The next day, all the employees in the team were called in by the HR department for talks. Not only did they not receive severance pay, but they also had to compensate the company for a large sum due to the public relations expenses caused by their spreading rumors.

Coupled with being jointly boycotted by our family’s relatives and business partners, it would have been almost impossible for these people to find another white-collar office job in the future.

“Ava, you’re off work now. I bought your favorite bagel. You must be hungry.” As soon as I walked out of the company’s main entrance, Kevin came up to me.

This was the seventh day he had been bothering me.

Ever since finding out my true identity at the police station, Kevin had been trying to make up with me every day.

Back then, Kevin and I used to go there often. It tasted terrible but cheap.

I went there often just to spare Kevin’s feelings, but he always thought I liked it.

I walked over to the trash bin and threw the noodles into it.

“Kevin, I don’t like the cold bagel from this place at all. The owner is dishonest and uses stale ingredients. These bagels are just like you-cheap and nasty.”

“When I’m in a good mood, I might have a bite or two. When I’m not, they deserve nothing but being thrown into the trash.”

Kevin’s face went deathly pale. His fingers clenched into a fist, slowly curling up as he struggled to utter a word for quite a while.

“Take these words to heart, Kevin. There’s no chance for us anymore. Focus on yourself and  good luck.”

There was no way I would let Kevin off so easily.

My revenge on Luna was just incidental. I never subscribed to the idea of only blaming the other woman; I always believed in dealing with both parties involved.

Both Kevin and Luna hurt me. Regardless of gender, they were both despicable, and I was determined to deal with them both.

The instigator, Kevin, was certainly not going to escape my wrath.

Kevin was fired by his company and went through a whole bunch of interviews without getting hired.

Only one company offered him a job opportunity.

“Kevin, after paying the fine for job-related embezzlement, do you have any money left for the compensation for defamation?”

Kevin gave a bitter smile, his expression seeming distorted through the glass.

“I know. It’s my bad luck and short-sightedness that led me to be deceived by Luna.”

I sneered. “Kevin, it’s not bad luck. Having dated me was the best stroke of luck you could ever have.”

“You were deceived by Luna because you’re rotten to the core. Don’t blame everything on fate. Isn’t one judgment from the court enough? Do you want another from the heavens?”

Even in the detention center, Kevin’s arrogance wouldn’t allow him to break down mentally as Luna did.

He could still remain calm in the face of my ridicule.

“Kevin, if you had just postponed posting on social media by one day, you would have become the son-in-law of the White family by now.”

“I don’t know if you regret it or not, but I hope you have a good dream tonight.”

Was that really true?

Could Kevin’s pretended composure and internalized negative emotions eventually become the last straw that drives him crazy over time?

On the day of Luna and Leo’s theft case trial, I sat in the spectator seats and listened to the whole process.

After the judge announced the judgment, Luna suddenly became violent. “Ava, you ruined me! It was all your plot, you bitch.”

“Why do you have everything since you were born while I have nothing? Why do you live in a big house while my family has to work like slaves for you?”

“Why can’t the good things in this world belong to me? I don’t deserve any less! I won’t let you off even if I go to prison!”

The bailiffs quickly took Luna and Leo away.

Kevin’s embezzlement charge was also pronounced shortly after, with a ten-year prison sentence.

I heard that not long after being taken into custody, Kevin went insane in prison.
