Becoming a Wolf Queen - Chapter 9
The surgery was a success.
Ari was out of danger but needed to rest and recuperate for a while. I could finally stop worrying.
As I had left in a hurry, I did not manage to finish tying up loose ends at Moon Shadow Pack. I instructed the steward to hurry up and pack up my things.
The next day, Rook woke up exhausted at the hospital. Anna’s leg wound had been treated, but breakfast was taking a long time to arrive.
Rook took out his phone to send me a message but realized I had blocked his number. Could something be wrong with the network?
Rook was not bothered about it.
If the message failed to be delivered, I would call him to arrange his daily necessities. He checked his cellphone logs, but they came up empty.
There were no missed calls.
The last sentence I said to him was, “Ari is hurt.”.
Rook felt his heart skip a beat. He thought that it was just a tactic I used to catch his attention.
Could I be telling the truth?
He hurried home before Sera and Anna woke up.When he entered the door, he saw the steward busying about with several servants.
They were busy packing things up.
Rook frowned. “What are all of you doing? Where’s Rhea?”
The steward bowed at him.
“Master Rook, Her Highness has brought Young Master Ari back to Heavenly Wolf Pack.
We’re taking away everything that belonged to her.”
We’re taking away everything that belonged to her.”
“What?!” Rook was shocked. “Rhea returned to Heavenly Wolf Pack? I don’t agree to it!”
Before Rook could digest this information, a servant came forward with an exquisite gift box.
“Steward, there is a set of Wolf’s Eye Stone jewelry made exclusively for the Luna. Do we take it with us?”
The steward glanced at it. “No. This is Master Rook’s gift to Miss Sera. It has nothing to do with Her Highness.”
Rook raised his hand. “Wait. When did I give Sera any jewelry?”
“How forgetful of you, Master Rook. Miss Sera told us two days ago that this was a gift from you. She even told Princess Rhea that you can’t wait to marry Miss Sera.”
Rook’s expression fell. Why would the gentle and kind Sera say something that would cause a misunderstanding?
He doted on Sera a lot and wanted her and Anna to have a life with him, but he knew very well that Rhea was the woman most suited to be his Luna.
Rook treated Rhea coldly just to punish her for her scheme three years ago. He wanted to make her work harder and better for her and Moon Shadow Pack.
He had never felt so frustrated before. He rushed to the hospital and found Anna’s ward filled with reporters.
A reporter asked, “We heard that Young Master Ari was hurt from being stepped on by a horse. He got admitted to the hospital because there was internal bleeding in his brain, but Master Rook called away all the doctors just to treat Miss Anna. Is that true?”
A reporter asked, “We heard that Young Master Ari was hurt from being stepped on by a horse. He got admitted to the hospital because there was internal bleeding in his brain, but Master Rook called away all the doctors just to treat Miss Anna. Is that true?”
Sera nodded shyly. “That’s true. Anna and I are more important to Rook. Sigh. There’s really nothing I can do about that…”
Rook was taken aback. Ari was really hurt and even the reporters knew it. Yet, he had coldly rejected Rhea’s request yesterday.
The reporter gushed, “You’re such a loving couple. Even Miss Anna is treated like a princess.
We’re so envious of you. Can you tell us when your wedding will be held?”
We’re so envious of you. Can you tell us when your wedding will be held?”
Sera replied coyly, “You’ll have to ask Rook about this. He had decided to break his engagement to Rhea. He’ll definitely give you a satisfactory answer.”
The nurses standing at the side looked at Sera with stars in their eyes.
“I wish I was born twenty years later as their baby.”
“Wow! A fairy tale about an Alpha and his sweetheart. How sweet!”
Everyone started to gush about this when Rook asked with a dark look on his face.
“What are you talking about, Sera? Why are there reporters here?”
