Becoming a Wolf Queen - Chapter 10
“I…” Sera thought quickly.
She got the reporters and nurses to leave immediately.
“I thought you were the one who called the reporters here.” Rook frowned. “I don’t like making my personal matters public.”
“I’m sorry. I won’t say anything to them in the future.” Sera lowered her head. She apologized timidly like a scared rabbit, and Rook’s heart softened.
“It’s fine. It’s not your fault. But why would you lie to Rhea and say that I gave you jewelry that was exclusive to my Luna?”
Sera jumped. Her cheeks turned red, and she started to tear up. Her eyes were like the bright surface of a lake in Summer.
“It’s because I love you too much! I’ve never stopped loving you, Rook. I pretended you gave me the jewelry but didn’t expect to be misunderstood. If Rhea is bothered by it, I’ll explain things to her.”
Rook rubbed between his eyes and shook his head. Sera had given him a daughter. He could not be too harsh to her.
She smiled in delight. Sera knew Rook too well.
He was used to being placed on a pedestal and took it for granted that every woman in the world would fall in love with him.
Rhea put away her pride as a princess for him while she gave him a daughter without asking for anything in return.
All Sera needed was to sweet-talk him, and he would believe anything she said.
Moreover, he was a proud man.
Once the entire pack began talking about how Rook would soon marry Sera, all she needed to do was cajole him into it, and it would be a done deal.
That was the reason why she arranged for the reporters to witness how loving they were. As for Rhea, she must be mad out of her mind.
Hahaha…
Rook felt stuffy in the chest. He walked back and forth in frustration inside the ward.
Sera held back her smile and pretended to show concern.
“What are you worried about, Rook? You can talk to me about it. I might be able to help you out.”
Rook looked troubled. “I keep having the feeling that something is wrong with Rhea. Is she really going to leave me?”
“This is easy to handle. Just call her and talk out any misunderstanding you have.”
“It’s useless. My call won’t get through.” Rook kept having the feeling something was not right.
He clenched his teeth and said, “I have to make a trip to Heavenly Wolf Pack. Ari might not be my son, but I was too harsh on her yesterday.”
Anna grabbed his hand when she heard this and began to cry. “Daddy, my leg hurts really bad.
I want you with me…”
I want you with me…”
She had been watching them all this time and quickly pleaded with her father when her mother gave her the signal.
Sera hugged her and comforted her, but it was useless. Anna wanted her father to stay, and she cried even louder.
It was because Sera pinched her arm hard and it hurt a lot.
Her crying caught the nurse’s attention. She smiled and consoled Rook, “Don’t worry, Master Rook. All of Moon Shadow Pack knows how devoted Princess Rhea is to you. She planted a hundred acres of purple violets for you.”
“They’re still in full bloom and waiting for your return. You didn’t agree to her request yesterday, which might have made her mad. She’ll come back in a few days after she calms down.”
Rook was relieved to hear this. “It’s understandable for her to lose her temper. I would be indulging her if I went after her. She has given her heart to me. She must still be in Moon Shadow Territory. All I need to do is wait…”
Rook convinced himself of this and sat down again. He had no idea that it would be a wait that lasted half a month.
