Antonio lunged from his chair, pupils dilating in primal panic.

He rushed to my side and shook me violently.

Everyone was stunned by the sudden turn of events.

But he thought I was still putting on a show.

He shouted angrily at my pale face.

“Stop fucking acting! You think it can change anything?”

Chad finally intervened and pulled him away.

“Have you lost your damn mind? Divorce her over this gold- digger? Should’ve let your shitty startup crash and burn years ago!”

Antonio was pushed to the ground and sat there dazed.

Chad took me away to the hospital.

As Antonio tried to follow, Valda suddenly cried out in pain.

“Tony! My foot’s turning purple!”

Antonio, hearing this, quickly offered to take her to the hospital as well.

Valda hadn’t expected this response and was still processing it when Antonio had already helped her into the car.

The team–building event ended in bloodshed.

Antonio dropped Valda off at the hospital outpatient department and left without hesitation.

I had just been wheeled out of the operating room.

The doctor, with a stern expression, said in a harsh tone, “The patient had a massive uterine synechiae hemorrhage. She just had a miscarriage a few days ago. How could she drink alcohol?”

Antonio arrived just in time to hear these words and froze on the spot.

Chad inquired about my condition.

After the doctor left, Antonio lunged at Chad, grabbing his collar and angrily demanding answers.

“Did you know she was pregnant? Why did you keep it from me? Is the child yours?!”

Chad, taken aback, was now even angrier.

He shoved Antonio away and turned away coldly, saying, “Are you still making excuses? Do you think your project was secured easily?”

“She didn’t want to burden you with the pregnancy. She checked into the hospital the night the deal was sealed! She lost the baby, but what were you doing? Picking out gifts for Valda! You don’t deserve her! Get out!”

“I might have been blind before, but from now on, I’m out of this company!”

With that, Chad left to handle my admission procedures.

When I weakly opened my eyes, I found myself in a hospital room with Antonio sitting by my bed, his face etched with despair.

At the sound of my movement, he snapped to attention.

“Let’s get a divorce. The papers are ready. Just sign them,” I said with indifference, staring at the ceiling.

Antonio’s face contorted with reluctance.

Just as he was about to speak, the ward door burst open.

Valda hobbled in, clutching a stack of documents.
