After Sending Me to a Mental Hospital, They Regretted it - Chapter 4
I didn’t say anything else but only smiled. Watching them panic and rush away, I stopped smiling and furrowed my brow slightly. As much as I hated Julia, I wasn’t sick enough to take my anger out on her corpse.
As my thoughts cleared, I suddenly realized what had happened. I quickly avoided the crematorium’s security cameras and silently made my way to the back door’s storage room.
I pushed the door open, and I found Julia’s body there. She was tied up and hanging from the ceiling. A man was pouring gasoline over her.
“Stop!”
I shouted as I rushed forward to stop him from continuing to pour the gasoline. The man’s name was James Bailey, a surprise ally I had met in the psychiatric hospital. He was Evelyn’s husband. After he discovered her illicit relationship with Antonio, they had teamed up and forcibly sent him to the mental institution.
Like me, he pretended to comply in the hospital, biding his time until he could get out and take revenge. While Antonio was helping me get a new identity, I secretly arranged one for James as well.
With a bit of money and connections, I got him out of the hospital to assist me in getting my revenge.
“I only asked you to take the gemstone bracelet from her, not to destroy the body!”
I tried to snatch the gasoline from his hand, but he expressionlessly pushed me aside. He viciously poured all the gasoline onto Amy’s body, his face twisting into a creepy grin. In the dimly lit storage room, it looked even more chilling.
“Madman! No matter what, she’s still your daughter!”
Even my hair stood on end. When I was operating on Julia, I really did intend to kill her. I wanted to stab the scalpel into her heart. But at the critical moment, James, disguised as my assistant, raised his hand and blocked me.
While Antonio and the experts were focused on me, no one noticed James squeeze Julia’s heart. He left a scratch on her heart, which was the real cause of Julia’s heart rupture and death. I thought James was heartless that he would go so far as to disregard his own daughter’s life to get back at Evelyn.
I didn’t expect him to even go so far as to desecrate Julia’s body. Unexpectedly, James stopped his actions, letting out a cold laugh.
“My daughter? ”
“She’s not my daughter; she’s my shame. She’s Evelyn and Antonio’s daughter. I helped raise that bastard’s child for 10 years.”
“What?”
I was shocked. For a moment, I was completely stunned. No wonder Antonio favored Julia so much. It turned out he had a daughter with Evelyn. That was why he wasn’t heartbroken when Amy died because he still had a daughter.
I stood there numbly, no longer stopping him from starting the ignition. But suddenly, there were hurried footsteps outside the door.
Antonio saw James on the monitor and, along with some men, kicked open the utility room door.
