Chapter 15

Chad wasn’t here, but Carter was.

“I called off the wedding!”

He looks tired. Carter is holding my hand.

“It was so stupid of me to take you back!”

He begs.

“You don’t mean that.”

I whisper.

“Your love is so cheap? You’re lying!”

“Please just stop, the only person you’re hurting right now is yourself.”

I have changed.

“We’re adults now, we have to be responsible for what we do!”

“I don’t care what I do, you’re mine, mine forever!”

He leaves in shame. Later, a friend calls me.

“Carter’s in bad shape, come help him!”

“Is he okay, does he need to go to the hospital?”

“Oh,” He said. “Well, that’s a shame. He’s asking about you though.”

He must be in love with me.

“Ashley are you coming over?”

I just end the call.
