It was ironic that I know every painful experience, I endured by his side, was now a tool to help others and of course to thrive.

The first few months after the divorce were quiet.

Eduardo kept himself away from the spotlight, waiting for the Scandal to fade away. I found out through acquaintances that Camilla had left him shortly after the news broke.

She claimed she couldn’t jeopardize her career for a doomed romance.

He was left alone. His reputation in ruins, trying to salvage the few contracts he had left but nobody wanted to associate with his name.

Eduardo was already there sitting in the front row, trying to maintain his facade of superiority yet his appearance betrayed the toll it had taken on him.

When our eyes met, I saw in his gaze the hope that I would falter, show weakness or seek reconciliation but I didn’t.

I responded with a cold indifferent smile just as he had done to me so many times before.
