After I Left, Celebrity Husband Regretted it - Chapter 3
Exhausted from his mistreatment, I answered from the bed.
“I’m not feeling well. I’m not going out tonight.”
Eduardo and Camila were trending on social media. A video showed Eduardo carrying her like a princess to the hospital. I decided to contact journalists to viralize the scandal.
“Let’s make sure it gets out there.”
He tried to approach me with that typical arrogant attitude thinking that with a command or a cold remark everything would resolve itself but something inside me had changed forever.
I felt neither fear nor sadness just emptiness.
“Valeria! I need you to stop talking to the press this is spiraling out of control. Camilla is very affected.”
He said throwing the keys onto the table as if his order were unquestionable.
I looked at him with a calm that seemed to unsettle him. His expression showed a glimmer of surprise when he realized this time I wouldn’t offer any apologies.
I took a deep breath and let the silence speak for me.
The discomfort on his face grew quickly.
“Did you hear me?” He insisted this time in a more threatening tone.
“If I heard you,” I replied flatly, continuing to fold the clothes I had set aside to donate, including some pieces he used to say he loved seeing me wear.
Now they were just scraps of fabric devoid of any significance.
He moved closer, arms crossed and brow furrowed.
“What are you doing? This is ridiculous. You’re throwing everything away just because the Press is blowing this out of proportion.”
“I’ve made my decision.” I responded with absolute calm. “I’ve already spoken to my lawyer. The divorce will be official in a few weeks.”
For a moment, his expression froze.
I could see clearly how control was slipping through his fingers and he didn’t know how to react.
For the first time, Eduardo faced someone he could no longer manipulate.
“This is about Camilla. Isn’t it?” he said incredulously trying to regain control of the conversation. “There’s nothing between us. I’ve told you a thousand times you’re exaggerating.”
“No, Eduardo! This isn’t about Camila.” I gave him a bitter smile, one even even unfamiliar to me. “It’s about everything. Every hurtful word, every humiliation, every night, I tried to fix what couldn’t be fixed.”
He opened his mouth to respond but I raised my hand stopping him cold.
“I’m not going to argue anymore. I’m tired, very tired.” I said as I finished packing my suitcase.
